Job Title: Lead Deck Supervisor
Reports to: General Manager/Assistant General Manager
FLSA Status: Part Time, Non-Exempt
Summary: Oversees swim lesson quality and ensures teachers and staff are following the appropriate skills as designated by the Goldfish Swim School curriculum. Oversees Deck Supervisor team and ensures quality of the team’s training, performance, and upholding our Core Values.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Works closely with the General Manager (GM) and Assistant General Manager (AGM) to ensure Swim Lesson Quality expectations are being met to Goldfish Swim School guidelines
- Provides in-water and poolside Curriculum support to staff by ensuring that proper holds, end goals, tools, progressions, and skill order are followed by all
- Ensures the monthly implementation of the Digital Skill Evaluations & that completed Digital Skill Evaluations are sent out to members at least once a month
- Assists Leadership with creation and facilitation of Lesson Quality based Workshops
- Participates in position-appropriate online Workshops and Webinars provided by the Franchise Office
- Comfortable leading offline training sessions
- Assists in directing the daily operations to ensure the school is running according to GSS standard operating policies and procedures.
- Oversees operational processes related to student progress and lesson quality, such as 4+ month checks, private lesson progress, and Golden Learners progress/satisfaction
- Oversees and ensures quality of Deck Supervisor team’s performance, including but not limited to, customer service, swimmer evaluation process and lesson quality
- Conducts training of current and new Deck Supervisors
- Provides leadership and constructive feedback to our Deck Teacher, Swim Instructor, Golden Teacher, and Deck Supervisor team, including recognizing and delivering development opportunities beyond the normal scope of initial training and monthly check-ins
- Oversees maintaining accuracy of the Wet Side Training binder and any necessary updates. Reports any necessary updates or changes to employee training schedules to AGM
- Offers customer service follow-up for member complaints and assists in providing ‘in-the-moment’ solutions with Front Desk associates/Managers and guests
- Must become familiar and efficient with iClassPro and Sales and Member Services role
- Will attend all Deck Supervisor, Swim Instructor and Sales and Member Services workshops
- Oversees all binders/drawers of the Deck Supervisor stand and Deck Supervisor Resources
- Responsible for the overall cleanliness and organization of the pool deck/the wet side of the facility and ensures the storage area for lesson equipment, the Deck Hand’s room, and the Deck Supervisor stand is stocked and organized.
Education/Experience: High school diploma or GED is preferred. Two or more years as a swim instructor required. Experience as a youth sports instructor/coach, camp counselor and/or teacher preferred. College degree preferred.
Certificates and Licenses: Lifeguard, CPR/AED and First Aid certifications required. Must attend Goldfish Swimologist Training and acquire Swimologist Certification
Work Environment: While performing this job, the employee is regularly exposed to heat and humidity. Noise level is usually moderate.
